Using Microsimulation Feedback for Trip Adaptation for Realistic Traffic in Dallas

چکیده
This paper presents a day-to-day re-routing relaxation approach for tra c simulations. Starting from an initial planset for the routes, the route-based microsimulation is executed. The result of the microsimulation is fed into a rerouter, which re-routes a certain percentage of all trips. This approach makes the tra c patterns in the microsimulation much more reasonable. Further, it is shown that the method described in this paper can lead to strong oscillations

Simulating the Effect of Speed Humps on the U-Turn Traffic
Traffic simulation represents an effective tool for evaluating the suggested alternatives to enhance traffic conditions prior to their application in real sites. U-turn sections represent examples of the complicated sections that cannot be analyzed properly without applying microsimulation approach. Recently, in Iraq, speed humps were applied in prior to the merging locations and U-turn sectio...
متن کاملExperiences with Iterated Traffic Microsimulations in Dallas
This paper reports experiences with iterated traffic microsimulations in the context of a Dallas study. " Iterated microsimulations " here means that the information generated by a microsimulation is fed back into the route planner so that the simulated individuals can adjust their routes to circumvent congestion. This paper gives an overview over what has been done in the Dallas context to bet...
متن کاملUser-based Vehicle Route Guidance in Urban Networks Based on Intelligent Multi Agents Systems and the ANT-Q Algorithm
Guiding vehicles to their destination under dynamic traffic conditions is an important topic in the field of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). Nowadays, many complex systems can be controlled by using multi agent systems. Adaptation with the current condition is an important feature of the agents. In this research, formulation of dynamic guidance for vehicles has been investigated based...
متن کاملDisaggregate path flow estimation in an iterated DTA microsimulation
This text describes the first application of a novel path flow and origin/destination (OD) matrix estimator for iterated dynamic traffic assignment (DTA) microsimulations. The presented approach, which operates on a trip-based demand representation, is derived from an agent-based DTA calibration methodology that relies on an activity-based demand model. The objective of this work is to demonstr...
متن کاملA Tool Chain for UML-based Modeling and Simulation of VANET Scenarios with Realistic Mobility Models
We show the advantages of integrated tool support for evaluating Vehicular Ad Hoc Network (VANET) scenarios. This includes three primary aspects. First, we provide support for convenient graphical modeling using UML diagrams and automated model transformation into executable simulation code using the Syntony framework. Secondly, a bidirectional coupling of network simulation and road traffic mi...
